I'm not sure how the training is in Florida, but my fiance went through a prominent police academy in California almost 10 months ago. (She's a Deputy Sheriff working in a rough jail now). Prepare for some very hard work and heavy training. You will know if you are ready for this significant lifetime commitment fairly quickly. I wish you the best of luck in this noble and very much needed profession.

Well I heard the training here is somewhat tough but it's nothing I can't do (hopefully lol). I hope I enjoy it and stick with it as this has been the only thing that's been on my mind for a while! Congrats to your fiance for being a Deputy Sheriff! I thank her for her service as well

One thing I've learned about letters of acceptance is that once the party's over, it's time to stand by, because all hell is about to break loose and it will be several weeks before you know which end is up.

It doesn't matter what the letter of acceptance if for, it has always been for me like waking up in a new universe completely naive and having to learn everything need to survive--yesterday.

I'm sure you will do fine and you will be a better man for it.
