It looks like they cut a watch in half, and then someone with absolutely no watch knowledge stuck some extra bits in just to make it look like there are a lot of parts inside....... Last edited by ----; 20 February 2006 at 10:03 PM.. |

Daren, LOVE your thesis!
This does seem to be the ONLY 'Rolex' forum on the net that is very much like a Panerai forum. The panny 'brotherhood' is something unique to that brand and something all other brand owners could and should learn from. Rolex is a nice, tough watch, but it's not the end all and be all of horology. Life's too short to put one brand on a pedestal (said the guy wearing a Rolex). |

It may not be on the same level as "It takes a year to make a Rolex" but it's marketing just the same..... |

Seriously, glad I seem to have just been unlucky with Panerai - I think they messed up with the G series (there were quotes to this effect on a couple of PAM sites at the time) where the Quality Control went out the window. Has knocked my confidence - but like most guys on this forum, (I guess) I'm nuts about watches, not just Rolex - although they have a special place in my heart - nothing to do with price or being flash, there's something about the classic looksof a Rollie. A Panerai is a nice 'alternative', I was just disappointed (and surprised) both of mine broke down!

What I really don't like is rediculous markups when they're not required!
Can you say SS Daytona? One AD told me $13,500, the next one only $9,350. ( Both Cdn Dollars)
