Coincidentally...I just got my AD fresh Explorer 214270 shipped to me at work yesterday...by the time I got home I'd already scratched the bracelet...ooops haha. No idea how it happened. Bothered me for about 10 seconds. Scratches...just not worth obsessing over, they happen no matter how careful a guy is. The Explorer is awesome though and I am currently feeling rather obsessed with it!

A couple years ago I had one ding (a little more than a scratch) on the left side of my DJ case from the bottom side of the granite countertop. I was pretty upset as it was my first blemish (other then desk dives and swiriles) on my first Rolex. I sent pics to my watchmaker who later looked at the watch in person and said that it was easily fixable. So I don't worry. I think I am in the not careless but not spastic camp here.

I would not like to get my watches scratched but this is gonna happen. Had I wanted my watches become scratch free I would have not removed the stickers and put them in the box

I'm more conscious of my watches that I dont wear often but my daily SubD that's been on my wrist nearly every day for the last 21yrs showing its age doesn't bother me at all.
In fact the more dings/scratches it gets the more it feels part of my life having been worn in some 'interesting' conditons and places and knowing that I will never part with it for that reason.

Before I had my son, marginally. Now, not even remotely do I care if I scratch an AP or a Rolex. Not wearing vintage either these days.

I care, but I collect them for awhile knowing that they will disappear or diminish when I whip out my Cape Cod.

Doesn't bother me, it's going to happen regardless.

That's what I bought it for, and that is what Rolex designed and built it for...work, adventures, exploration, and a story to tell. A scratch is like a scar.... It tells a story and establishes character. It's as unique as the wearer...or an enigma to the onlooker who dares to ask, " Why?"or"How?"
The adventurer will provide the verbal story to accomidate the scar or scratch. Rolex will provide the reliable and durable time piece to allow the story to be told for generations. |

Don't lose sleep over it unless it's ruined. Then I'll obviously be upset.

I wear a Royal Oak every day and could care less if it gets scratched. I never have been the type to baby my watches.
