visited an out of town AD yesterday and.....
Got to pick up the special portfolio issue! Finally! My local AD's haven't had any come in yet. On the other hand, the AD mentioned Rolex was going to phase out sub no dates, due to the popularity of the date versions. I thought it was interesting to hear, as I have not heard about that anywhere else. Another sales ploy?

I have not heard that. No worries, there are plenty of no date subs out there if you want one.

Sounds like a ploy to me.
I'd be shocked if Rolex discontinued a popular model that has only been out for 3 years. |

I would be shocked if the 114060 was discontinued. It is one of the best sellers from what I have been told by our AD's. Don't know how the rest of the world is on sales for this piece, but it would be hard to believe if this was the case.

Every AD "hears" things, but I bet it's what they experience at their particular store.
No date sub has been in the lineup for many years, and I feel it is far from the slowest seller! |

Doubt it. And double doubt that the AD would know if it were true.

Yea, I just nodded my head and went about my business. The things these AD's hear sometimes, makes me wonder what's next.

Despite his inaccuracies, he did bring up a good point for my next purchase. I was considering the daytona, but in white gold or the platona. He recommended I purchase the SS version first, then work towards saving for the white gold or platona.

Did that AD had a ND when he made that that statement? I sincerely doubt the part on discontinuation.

How long has the airking been around, and the Sub is from the most popular line, the only reason I would believe it is the general trend we have all reported of Rolex trying to take people to more and more expensive pieces. As others have said the AD would be the last to know in any case.

I will be stunned if Rolex stop producing the Sub no date.
