Any classic rock fans out there?

If you are, you owe it to yourself to check this website out. It has some real obscure stuff there. Especially on Vault Radio. If you go there, it tells the history of the recordings. I heard today that they might be downloadable by early summer. The posters and prints are wicked as well.

Thanks Paul a great link, brings back a few memories,those were the days.Cream I was there at there last concert what a great band and no band have ever sounded like them, and I doubt if any band will.That concert in 1968 at the Albert Hall was brilliant,Clapton's guitar solos were electrifying,with Jack Bruce playing on bass superb.Ginger Bakers drum solo,fantastic boy could he make those skins talk. Think that was one of the best concerts, with such a fantastic atmosphere I have seen,Pink Floyd coming a close second.And a huge fan of Hendrix,Guns N Roses,Zeppelin,Queen,plus most on that site.You sure made a old rocker feel a lot younger today.

Padi, when you say that you were at the last concert, did you mean in 68 or last year? Either way, it had to be a great experience. I've seen Pink Floyd also and as far as a live show goes, nothing comes close. They just totally blow your mind with their light and stage shows. Crashing airplanes, flying pigs, dancing lights, ans so on.
I also am a big fan of Cream, Hendrix, The Who, and most others on the site. As I type this, they're playing Piece of My Heart. Glad you enjoy this site.

The Farewell Concert Royal Albert Hall it was their last official concert November 1968.They broke up soon after, then think it was the early nineties they got back together for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony.Then 2005 a few gigs back at the Albert Hall,but IMO they lacked the old magic and just did not sound the same.IMO Clapton is still up there with the finest of todays guitarists,and he is a big Rolex fan,so extra brownie points there..

I think I mentioned before I have the Albert Hall Concerts on DVD. Never lend them - you'll not get them back!!
Interesting comments on the interviews. Ginger does not say much but he said that both Jack and he are now into Jazz. Eric was worried that he might not meld with them. Ginger's comment: Eric thought he was not playing Jazz but as soon as he played his solos we realised he was dead on for Jazz or Blues because he never played the same solo ever.
Eric says too that they gave themselves 3 weeks of rehearsals to see if they could do it. Ginger and Jack had not spoken to each other for thirty years so it was going to be interesting, but all went well.
Ginger says that he has 0 nerves on stage 5 people or 50,000 does not bother him.
Eric Clapton felt they sounded better now because in the heyday they were rough and careless.
Basically now you have 3 seasoned musicians. As Ginger said: We were never a band that leapt all over the stage. We stuck with the music.
I agree and Stormy Monday and Crossroads are 2 absolute Zingers off these tracks.
They had not printed the tickets for the RAH concerts and they were on sale on the net.


Do you remember a band called Humble Pie?? I was at a Hyde Park concert in the 70's where Humble Pie and Grand Funk Railroad played.
In the same week I went to the Roundhouse in London and heard George Melly. Is he still around?

Dude, I haven't had a mullet in like 12yrs. I don't think I have any concert shirts left either. I do have about a half dozen silk Aloha shirts. Only problem with them is I can only wear them about four months out of the year

I have the opposite problem, I have tons of nice winter clothes, but it has been in the 80's this week. Cold now, but still half my stuff is still in the attic.

Greg Ridley and Jerry-? cannot remember second name. A long time ago,used to have a few on record, Back Home Again,Black Coffee but
all gone now.Still have a few single tracks Natural Born Bugie,Big Black Dog,Groovin' with Jesus and A Song For Jenny.But I lost most of my vinyl collection in a house fire many years ago.Old George Melly is still going great blues jazz singer.Seen him several times at the Brecon jazz festival,think he is on a UK tour at the moment.

Yes a great jazz singer and quite a character, seen him early 60s
in Ronnie Scott's club,was quite into jazz then 40 odd years ago.Yes he is nearly 80 now and been fighting lung cancer for several years.Think its just his character and love of jazz and blues keeping him going.And how he keeps such perfect timing with his music now only god knows, he is now very hard of hearing almost deaf.

Never was 'into' stuff like Floyd, Cream, etc... I was always more into progressive stuff like King Crimson, Yes, Rush, etc. Ottawa only had 'classic' rock radio stations until Xmas, when an 'edgy' rock station was launched, thank GOD! Being forced to listen to stuff I didn't like when it was new was driving me batty.
