Unsolicited Fax
Perhaps some of you may have opted into the Facsimile Preference Service in the hope of stopping spams, scams and other unsolicited material. I have, for the last couple of years.
However, since the new year I've had about four or five of these little b@st@rds LATELY. which I duly send back to the complaints dept. of the FPS. It seems however, that, according to their FAQ... Quote: All complaints received will be acknowledged and processed by our complaint's team. We will write to the organisation involved requesting an explanation of why it has sent an unsolicited fax to a FPS registered number and ask them to remove the number from their fax lists. As the FPS have no enforcement powers, we will pass all the complaints received over to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), who are the UK independent supervisory authority reporting directly to the UK Parliament and responsible for enforcing the relevant regulations. It is the ICO's responsibility to look at non-compliant organisations and take appropriate action. If you wish to follow up on a complaint you have made, please contact the ICO directly. Their details can be found under the useful links section of the website. So, they can't really do anything about it?? Unbefeckinglievable In case you're not familiar with a fax like this it contains large areas of tone (not our Tone Blair surely?) and takes about five or six minutes to come through. Don't, whatever you do, reply as I believe you will be charged heavy duty rates on your phone bill. The problem used to be with 0900 numbers but I've a suspicion that 0700 numbers are suspect too. Barstewards..... get orf MF landline

I can't stand these faxes, emails and phone calls. You can get on a million lists that say don't, they still do.

By answering any of these e-mails or faxes you are actually acknowledging the fax number or e-mail address is valid and in use. And I must warn you, the next thing you’ll see is unwanted advertisements by SMS or MMS. Voice mail advertising is becoming hot too. The fact that all those ‘watch dog’ organizations are paper tigers makes things even worse. I hate those bloody b@stards! I have an unlisted telephone number to get rid of those gits. I don’t want a loan, double glazing or an insurance. And I bloody don’t want it at all while I’m having my diner!!!!!

Today I received eight messages on my house phone from salespeople. Three for mortgages, three for credit cards, one for a new long distance service, and one for a subscription to the NY Post.
I already have a mortgage and have never applied for another, We only have one credit card and it is only used for vacations, nor have we applied for any others. Our ATM cards act as credit cards (no debt, no interest to be paid ) I've had the same long distance service for years and have never inquired into any others. I live in Southern New Jersey, why in the world would I want a newspaper from New York How do these people keep getting our phone numbers? I've put myself on every "do not call list" available and keep my number un-listed, yet they keep calling

Its a bit like the recorded voices I hear on my answering machine when I get home from a night out, telling me I've won £10000, or a trip to disney world. All I have to do is call them back on a premium rate number and get charged a fiver a minute. Feking irritating bathplugs.
