Is Rolex 1680 different to 16808
I would like clarification please as when I write 1680 in the "search" of chrono24.com. All I see is 16808. someone told me that ref 1680 exists and is more rare than 16808. Please some one here fill me in ! Thanks

There are far more 1680 than 16808. 16808 is all gold and has sapphire crystal while 1680 is steel with acrylic. Different movement also.

I think maybe you meant the difference between a 1680/8 and a 16808. ?
The 1680/8 is an all gold 1680 and utilize the calibre 1575 movement and plastic crystal with a black or blue nipple dial. The 16808 is the same watch basically but the newer version that features the 3035 movement and has sapphire glass, originally with blue or black nipple dial then in app...1983-4 changed to the yg surrounds and big plots with gloss. The 1680/8 is quite a bit rarer yes. |
