When I bought my D Blue and SD4K I closed the deal with a standard link thrown in for each. The AD would not budge on a discount for either watch. They are more comfortable without the divers extension.

My diver's extension is safely stored in the Rolex watch box. No need for it.

Who's removed the fliplock from their SD4000?
My dssd never left the AD with it on the watch. It fits so much better without it on there. It centers the clasp nicely on the wrist and makes me wonder what those that say the dssd is not comfortable are feeling.
But what's good for this goose may not be good for the gander. FWIW my AD had never heard of this either and looked at me a bit sideways when I asked to have it removed. He said he now makes the suggestion to all and has removed it on his personal sd4k and loves it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I was planning on doing this when I get around to buying my 116600 (hopefully in the next few months). I had the same modification performed to my DeepSea without which it simply would not have sat properly on my wrist.

+1. Did the same with DSSD. I actually prefer to wear the watch under my wetsuit cuff anyway. Pulling back to check the time is fine and it gives me a bit of a cushion should a vicious boat ladder choose to attack. Fit is much better.

Who's removed the fliplock from their SD4000?
Left it in its place. Just think it's part of the watch DNA. It doesn't bother me at all on a daily basis and very helpful when diving.

I have a small wrist and found that the watch fit better and looked nicer without the extension. The bracelet look less elegant if you leave the extension and you have a small wrist since the extension's surface is flat and unlike the other links.

Scott1907-
I have same wrist size as you. I removed diver ext. link and have 4 links on the 6 side and 6 links on the 12 side. Fit is perfection. Cheers |

Interesting how so many make this modification. Mine fits quite comfortably, so I never thought to make any change...

Great thread. Can't believe so many people removed the diver's extension link!
Pictures (before and after) would be really nice ;-) |

Mine was removed at the same time the bracelet was sized. Sitting in the box, still in its protective plastic wrap. Perfect fit without :)

It seems kind of strange that this would only come out now, since it seems that almost everyone has removed the extension and the watch has been out at least a couple of years.
