Impossible in this town !!! There's too many. But, I'd rather chef at home in the back yard with family and friends.

Way back when I used to write restaurant reviews for a living, I would have said either Gaddi's in the Peninsula Hong Kong or the New York Grill at the Park Hyatt Tokyo. But since I almost never eat out any more, I can't recommend anywhere with any confidence. But I did always find restaurant dining very hit and miss, and ultimately dissatisying nine times out of ten, even when it was free.

Favorite as in best meal or favorite as in the place I frequent the most?
As far a best meals, I think of them mostly by cuisine but the most memorable and top 3 meal for me was Arzak in San Sebastian Spain. Top 3, in no particular order would be Per Se, Arzak, and L'Atelier du Joel Robuchon Saint-Germain. Chefs Table at Brooklyn Fare and Masa NYC would round out the top 5 |

Cool answer...11 Madison park followed closely by the four seasons. Both are special. Last meal before death row...cioppino at Tadichs in San Francisco with ice cold anchor steam and a ton of sourdough bread.

Martinis here in my locale is my absolute favourite. They provide consistent service, superior menu offerings and the atmosphere is stellar. A home away from home

I prefer cooking at home, as noone knows my taste better than I, but when I go out Pegasus,Mongolian BBQ, and On The Border are my go to places. I wish we had Doner Kebab in the US. I lived off it every time I went to Germany

Crustacean when in LA, Circo when in Las Vegas and Frankie and Johnnie's when in NYC. At home here it's Dominick's at the Scottsdale Quarter.
Not the best dining place in Boston, but when I'm home I never miss a trip to the North End to eat at 5 North Square followed by a cannoli at Mike's Pastry |

Le Manoir Aux Quat'Saisons.
Beautiful old house, lovely setting, wonderful food, can't ask for more. They'll even teach you to cook but I have never got past the eating yet. Much prefer country dining to city. |

Oysters at The Owl Cafe on the Gulf of Mexico in Apalachicola, FL. And you don't get just any oysters from just anywhere. They will only serve oysters from Mile 13 Seafood Market which come from Apalachicola Bay, some of the best in the world! If Mile 13 is out of oysters, you don't get any.
Then there's Owl Cafe's Chocolate Mousse Desert. It is the best chocolate desert I've ever had . . . period! The plus side of eating here is that you're in a unique area of Florida called The Forgotten Coast. For example: This is a recent Friday afternoon on the beach at St. George Island close to Apalachicola: Looking east: Looking west: My wife and I basically had the beach to ourselves. I wish we lived closer! |
