Icon5 Opinions on green bezel sub

I was thinking of getting the green bezel sub and my questions are. Were they made for only one year? How many were made? Do you think in the future it will be collectible? Thanks for all the help.

They have been made for several years for now, and are still in production/distribution. They may be discontinued in the next couple years when the newer style SS Submariners are phased in. So LOTS have been made.

Collectability will likely not be much higher than a standard Submariner, at least in the short term, so my suggestion is to buy and wear the watch if you like it, not because of it's speculated collectability. If you prefer the black bezel, buy that one instead. The other difference is the hands and dial, which are bigger and have bigger indices, respectively. If you like that, then the decision should be the green, and you can always put a black bezel insert in it too. Welcome to TRF.

Welcome to the Forum

As has been said, they have made the LV non-stop since its introduction in 2003..

However....they're GREEN !!!!

This guy likes 'em though..

Welcome to TRF!

Not only has the LV been in production since 2003 but it has also from start on been rumoured that it was going to be discontinued. Nothing has happened, yet...

When and if the LV is going to get discontinued, only Rolex knows.

I'm not a big fan of the green. I like the color black.

No one knows how many LVs have been made other than far fewer than the standard 16610.

How long will it be produced likewise is anyone's guess.

As to collectablity? Future collectors will decide that. Those that give a definitive answer one way or the other are guessing.

The original Milgauss was not popular during it's run. As was the 1655. etc....

Look at how many 5513s were made and look at it's place with collectors now.
