Subby's gone over to the AD/RSC for a complete make-over!!

Hi guys,

Beautiful Saturday here in Auckland. This morning I dropped off the Subby that Bubba sent me at my AD-cum-RSC for a cosmetic make-over.

While it was mechanically spot-on, there were a few scuff marks and scratches that were annoying me. So I've dropped it off and should get it back next Saturday.

Shall post pics when it's back!!

Cheers - JJ

I'm sorry you have to wait, my friend, but the RSC refinishing is worth the wait. Subby will look brand spanking new again!

The long process of waiting begins. Platty is happy right now as she gets wrist time. This is one watch that for sure you'll never flip!

That's right, Vernon. This is one baby (and Platty too) that will always remain with me. For me the process is NOT long. I'll get the watch back next Saturday!!

From the sound of it, it looks like your flipping career may be over JJ?

I think thats a great thing, I'd prefer to buy Rolex watches to own them rather them trade/sell them for another. That is why I really give a lot of thought before I make the move and purchase, and in the long run, I think it was worth it.

You could be right, Jerome. Platty is too much of a beauty and the only Rolex with a noble metal dial and bezel....whereas Subby is such a splendid gift!!

Honestly, I'm happy just being a 2-Rolex man once more!!

Very well said JJ! I can already feel from thousands of miles away (and the other side of the internet spectrum) just how happy and grateful you are with Platty and Subby.

As Captain James Hook would say, "GOOD FORM!!!"

I'm sure your Sub will look brand new when it returns from the AD.

Pretty sure copper is NOT classified as a noble metal, Eddie.

That would be just Platinum, gold, silver and......can't think of any more!!

Oh no, JJ - a 'one watch guy' again for a week!

How ever will you cope?

Still, I'm sure Subby will come back sparkling and, in the meantime, Platty's back in the limelight - no doubt looking as good as ever

JJ after you said that the "Platty and Sub will be with me always." You overlooked the rest of your sentence..."in spirit."

Anyway they are your watches to do as you please.

I'm feeling a bit scratched, worn and battered...perhaps I need a week at RSC!!!!!

Seriously...I know it's rude to ask but roughly how much does a refinish set you back?

Can't wait for the pics!

I did notice the scratch on the overside of the right lug at six o' clock but refrained from commenting on it back then.

But now you mention it yourself, I believe I would have sent it to RSC for a polishing, too.

I don't know, Jim. My AD said he would keep it as low as possible for me as I was one of his good customers.

I'll come to know on Monday and pick up Subby next Saturday. Shall post pics then.

Mechanically, the watch is perfect......just a few scuff marks on the lugs and bracelet to be polished off.

JJ

JJ, you will not be sorry when it comes back.
But at least you have still got your platty to wear until it does.
Then the decision on which one to wear, then begins
