Rolex rolex rolex
Hey everyone,
Has anyone compared non ROLEX ROLEX ROLEX. rehaut with one's with? For submariner and explorer 2. Is there a difference in height? Is there a different wrist presence? Was wondering if it was just aesthetics. Thanks! Mike |

I have tried on without the rehaut, but I was wondering if I should go with one over the other.
No engraving looks cleaner to me. |

I was worried about the height.
If it had better presence, I would have to find one and try it on....not sure where I could do that though... |

I like it. In fact, I waited an extra 2 months when buying my first Rolex so I could have it. They were just starting to do it and I thought it was really cool. It's personal preference, though. My SS Yachtmaster is smooth and I still really love it. How can you NOT love ANY Rolex?

A bit too Louis Vuitton for me. Preference is without.
I think Subs / Sea Dwellers look better without the engraving as well. |

it's there on your wrist if you look for it, otherwise, not really visible/noticeable.

Funny, I was wearing my Omega last week, and the Rehaut looked kinda... plain. Interestingly I wasn't a fan at first of Rolex choice, but now I really like it. As stated, you don't notice it unless you look for it..

I was looking at the engraving through a mag the other day (obviously not the one on my BLNR) I think it looks really cool

My Explorer has the smooth rehaut.
At first, I thought the engraved rehaut was just a little much in terms of branding, but I was actually drawing a conclusion based on macro photography. When I bought my DJ with the engraved rehaut, like a lot of people who get a new watch, I spent a lot of the day staring at it. It wasn't until I went home many hours later that I even noticed that the rehaut was engraved, even though I knew that it would have the engraving before I picked it up at the AD. I've grown accustomed to the engraving, because three of my Rolexes have it, but honestly, while it's a nice touch, the engraving is as unobtrusive as any watch detail I can imagine.

I own both. And like them for their difference. Neat being able to see the serial number at 6 o'clock on the rehaut.

I prefer them without. That Louis Vuitton comment is on the mark, although I know it is touted as an anti-counterfeiting measure. I feel certain Rolex doesn't mind putting their name on it a few more times.
But, to be honest, you hardly notice it when it is on your wrist. It doesn't matter much. |

Personally I love the engraved rehaut, and was delighted they did it on the sub for a short period before the subc came out, it really adds something to the watch I think and I admire it daily, sad I know but its a lovely bit of extra detail.

My SubC has it and I was also looking at an older 16610 with out the ROLEX ROLEX ROLEX.
Really it doesn't make a difference on a daily basis.. However, I think it adds cool detail and helps to set distingush your watch from a fake. |

I think it's a little unnecessary. It's maybe the only "upgrade" I still have not grown to love.

But anyone can tell from a mile away that it's a replica because the counterfeiters are piss poor at best making the rehaut. Most of the time the lettering is off from the markers and the engraving is either to deep or to dark or not enough, some are not even laser engraved. It's not a 100% "authentication feature" but in conjunction with the others used they work very well.

Yeah, but they do such a lousy job of it.
