Thoughts on MN caseback

Hi guys

what are the thoughts on the engraving of this MN- haven't seen a 75 under MN- not saying is wrong, just looking for opinions. Rolex coronot looks odd too but think is angle

Could we have a bit more information for those not in the know - what watch is this. I thought sea-dwellers were the only Rolex watches with engraved case backs.

I would send the required information and pictures of the watch to this website via e-mail: http://tudorcollector.com/military/marine-nationale/

If they don't have the ledger information, they can inquire on your behalf perhaps to see if your piece is in the ledgers.

I don't know MN casebacks beyond just a glance so I cannot help you there. That said, those Crownguards belong to something from 68 to very early 70s I believe. That would give me pause.

The watch is indicted as made in 1968, but does that mean should have 68 on the back or is it possible for it to be put into service later?

the MN engraving appears very distinct in comparison to the rest of the text on the case back. This is not a great image but such an easy modification puts MN submariners into Explorer 5500 territory and you really need to trust your seller...

Have asked the seller for close ups on paperwork and serial number.

But they did disclose-

Please note that we asked to the manufacture Tudor to confirm the link between this watch and the “Marine Nationale” but Tudor told us that they do not communicate any information on that matter.

I'm not sure why you didn't read that link I posted. They likely have the records to confirm the authenticity of the watch.

It's a Tudor.
