Steinhart gmt
Not a bad looking "new" watch homage to the elusive white GMT. Just saw it. Not bad IMO if homage watches are interesting to you.

Very interesting. But I'm not an homage guy...

I'm not typically either. I just thought this was a nice looking watch on its own. Wish Rolex made one that was actually available.

I had one of these a while back.
It started a slippery slope to needing a Rolex! |

I like it, which doesn't mean that I'd buy it.

Now I have four, which is indeed a slippery slope.

it's pretty attractive! not sure, though, why it's almost 2x the price of the Ocean One Vintage, and i also would have preferred that they stuck with ETA (not too familiar with Soprod).

After owning two Tudor Black Bay Blue's, I just picked up my first Steinhart as a daily beater, the Ocean One Vintage Red. I must say I'm quite impressed with the quality and I can appreciate the 42mm case size being a larger guy. It even has an ETA 2824-2 like the Black Bay

This is my vintage Orient "submariner style" dive watch. Its a good daily beater.
[/IMG] Same as my vintage Sandoz diver. [/IMG] But if you want a classic Swiss made watch that has the same style as a Rolex 5508, then go look for a 60s Titus Calypsomatic. Its a beautiful vintage dive watch and its value is going up already. A good example can be had for $1k. Here is mine: [/IMG] |
