'Ashley' from the French Quarter stole Rolex

'Ashley' from the French Quarter stole Rolex, $1,800 and jewelry as man slept: NOPD

Things are not always as they might appear, especially through beer goggles.

Ashley looks to be a professional in this picture... of the oldest profession. A 47 y/o man with tons of gold hanging off him - soft target.

How is his gold Rolex, and all the rest only $1800?

Why is it on TRF?

Well, there have been many posts on these boards of those who lose their Rolex watches to thieves, pick pockets, and ladies of the evening and this one is like those. It serves as a kind of cautionary tale.

There is also one thing that makes this case different and more interesting than most of those sorts of posts.

As yet, no one's figured it out.

That's great.

I can't say that I've ever seen a sign like that in all my years, but clearly it is from a more pragmatic time than we live in currently.
