Reading Serial Numbers
Is there any way to read the serial number of my Daytona WG watch without opening it? Is it located on the outside of the watch someplace? How about other Rolex watches?

It's engraved between the lugs of the case, underneath where the bracelet attaches. At the 6 o'clock side.
Only the Cellini models and the OysterQuartz have the serial number engraved on the back, where you can see it without removing the bracelet.

Only newer Rolexes have the serial number engraved on the rehaut. But looking the OPs other posts it looks like there's a good chance that their serial # is on the rehaut.

What series it the WG Daytona? Anyway, that is ONE good thing about the RBR (Rolex Branded Rehaut) - it makes taking the bracelet off to check the serial number redundant (although the serial number would STILL be between the lugs at six, too).

What is the "rehaut" When I bought the Daytona, the sales person matched the serial number to the warranty by reading it from somewhere on the watch. I didn't have my glasses so I couldn't figure out where. I should have asked. Now, even with a loop, I still can't figure it out. Where did the read the serial number from? Or did he just fake it?

"Rehaut" is a term for the satinised , angled steel edge that runs the dial (and upon the crystal is resting).
