New member. Ladies president questions

Hi. I posted yesterday, but it got moderated and isnt approved yet....but i still need help :(
Tried to post a pic of my President.

Anyhow, I have a YG DD, oyster bracelet, smooth bezel as my daily timepiece. Wife has a TT, want to upgrade to all-gold. I saw a used YG, President bracelet, diamond MOP dial, made in 1984 for 8K (US). Seems like a bit much.

How old is too old? How much "sag" is OK? The President sagged oh about 1/2 inch. I think for 8K, i should get at least a 90's model, no? Thanks for helping me out. Maybe I can get that pic working someday.

I don't know too much about the ladies DD, but the men's version was beef'd up in 2000 when the model numbers jumped from 18238 to 118238, including solid center and end links, which added 35% more heft to the bracelet and cut down on strech. I am not positive, but I would assume that the womens version received the same updates in 2000.
8K sounds high to me for the '84 model. Keep looking. Try demesy.com for pre-owned Rolex's. They seem to have a great selection, a good reputation, and they are priced right.

Good luck,
Steve

Have to agree with Steve,
at 8k with streach you can do much better. An 84 may have the older style crystal, hollow links and not near as nice a feel on your(wifes) wrist. You want the newer bracelet that is less with solid links less likly to streach and will hold its value much better.
Also a demesy fan, bought my 118238 from Ryan there and very pleased !

Welcome to TRF!

I would agree that 8 K is too much.

I hope your wife gets a real nice Ladies DJ in YG with a President bracelet soon!

Please post a pic of your DD and the TT DJ of your wife!

I bought a really nice ladies 18k pres for $2100 6 months ago. 1991 little stretch in the band black dial.

I'd keep looking.
