Seems like OP have some watches for sale, but some of these are not so popular models. Hence, buyer's market for those models - and not generally.

Wishful thinking from the OP methinks! Clearly prices on some references are a bit crazy, 5513 for example, Rolex must have made a g'zillion of them but the price doesn't seem to be faltering. Tudor Snowflake, an honest $200 watch in it's day fetching easy $4000 and up and not faltering either. These are not scarce watches, look at just HQ Milton alone, over a dozen 5513's to choose from right now if you want one (or 12). But you'll have to pay!

If anything, I've seen more people looking to invest in vintage collectibles as alternative investment vehicles right now.

The prices for really mint vintage desirable models is not soft in fact its strong. The market for the most beat up cheap desirable models is also very strong. The market for anything in between is and always will be soft as the spread from junk to mint is a big one.

Case by case I think. Some nice examples are fetching good money as they should. There are deals around however. I picked up my snowflake well below market value for its condition because it was not presented well. Someone who is not up on the minituae of a particular reference should always avoid.

I also picked up my early ('69 I believe) mark II Speedmaster because it had the original bracelet not often seen on the Mk II.

Do your homework and buy smart and always buy what you love. Just like with cars you stand a good chance to loose money on every one.

I have not seen a downward trend at least with 5513 or 1675 which I am in the market for both. I check several sites several times a day looking for birth year piece Been doing this routine for a while now. At least with these two models even what we might call more "ordinary" pieces have increased considerably the last couple years. Rarer models are really bringing a premium. The interesting trend is the 80's models which appear, at least recently, to be increasing as well.
Wish I was not so picky and would have grabbed a couple two years ago.....

Yep. Cheapest with polished case, service dial and worn 7836 bracelet, USD5800. A lot - that's CAD7700! Cheapest Sub of any variety, USD4500. But Jacek knows his market IMHO, and he's not going to waste his time listing watches for prices he won't get.

I thought I saw 5513s and 14060s going in the high 3s as recently as a year ago, but maybe I'm misremembering. Glad I bought when I did, even if my watches are all common undistinguished models, they'd all cost me far more nowadays. And looking down at today's watch - birth year 1675 - I can put up with service dials, they're still nice watches.

I'm obsessed with prices of nice vintage pieces, like many of us, and I look virtually every day. Prices are going up, not down. Just look at nice examples of 1675s (all discontinued GMTs really, even 16710s). Prices have skyrocketed in the last year. Same for 5513s (and 5512s). Good, original examples are more expensive than ever. And what about red 1680s? Crazy prices now. Sigh.

Nick took very good care of me on the matte dial GMT 16750 and the matte dial Sea Dweller 16660. I have not seen a decrease, on the contrary. The same is true of the matte dial GMT1675 I got from a friend. I have been looking at matte dial subs and have not seen a decrease in quality watches.

The world keeps making more people but it ain't make more vintage Rolex watches. Unless Rolex stops being the absolute number one luxury brand of watch in the world in terms of brand recognition and history, I don't see the market going down over the long term. Short term maybe dips will happen, but as long as Rolex remains the king, the values will rise long term. Dependent on condition of the vintage pieces of course...
