Daytona VS jumbo resale.

will Jumbo hold value if bought new at MSRP vs SS Daytona at MSRP at resale. trying to generate some thoughts.
I love the jumbo but dunno about their resale value let say after 4 to 5 years. I know i will miss my Hulk and daytona if i sale them to get the jumbo. would you even do it or not?

MSRP/resale price considered, they're probably pretty similar.

I think similar on resale. As long as you have something for sport / rough wear I'd make that move. Love my jumbo

Nothing holds value like Rolex and Patek. Baring that in mind, the jumbo is a bit on the rare side of Ap so I'd say it might be better than the Daytona.
Both nice watches good luck though!

I think the resale on a Jumbo might be a little less interesting than a Daytona, but if you buy it right and sell in 4-5 years then I think you shouldn't loose money, about doing it hell yeah, without a second of hesitation, much, much cooler watch IMO, had the RG Daytona, very nice watch but IMO no where near my Patek or AP

First of all I would not entertain paying retail for either. That is a sure way to lose money right off the bat.

I would expect to lose similar percentage on each but factor in the cost to service and refinish the jumbo which is prob 1-2k whereas you can send a rolex to abc and have them prep for resale for 250 bucks

Hard to keep a jumbo mint enough for resale over 5 years...for me anyways.

I've seen lnib jumbos selling for 17.5. If you paid full retail you will def take a loss.

For "like new" Jumbo's I've seen them go for 18k at lowest ($18,000 / $22,000 = .81%). I've seen "like new" Daytona's also go for 9.2k at the lowest ($9,200 / $12,000 = .76%), the Daytona actually lost more money relative to retail cost. I can't predict the future but I think the prices for both pieces should do well for resale.

18.5 - 18k is asking. A good friend of mine just bought one for 17.3 with a June 15 warranty. Might have been a one off but I thought it was a big drop from what the retail on the piece was. Either way I wouldn't pay retail.

Heres a sub 18k jumbo that came with an extra link from a well respected member of trf recently. I only recall because I thought about buying it myself

When I was looking for Jumbo they were all going for 18.5k asking (like new / BNIB was around 20k) , when I would ask to drop in price over email, phone or PM here on TRF, they would not budge much at all. Still, 17.3/22 = .78 (would still be higher than Daytona in previous example). For "like new" even the Daytona can drop a bit.

I think Rolex will always hold their value much more than AP, but then again I wouldn't pay retail on a AP
