Rolex Necklace?
Stumbled on this on eBay- a seller, "Luxury Jewels of Beverly Hills," offering a "Rolex" necklace.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Estate-Rolex...MakeTrack=true Hard to believe. Google turned up a few detractors, claiming Rolex has never made anything other than watches and the accessories we know as swag. That, and the diet cokes they serve up, although we all recognize they are not the OEM. Any validity to this seller listing the brand of this necklace as Rolex? I'm dubious but thought I'd ask the authorities that lurk these hallowed halls. |

Well, the necklace says "ROLBX" and not ROLEX. Besides that, I doubt very very much that Rolex would put a chronometer tag on a bracelet... that is just ridiculous.

Am I missing something? I see "Rolex" in the title and description. The clasp has "RolexSA".

When I inquired about the piece, the response was:
"I bought it years ago from an authorized Rolex dealer. I have seen one other one as well. I have never sold fake items and I never would. I have been in Beverly Hills and in the business for over 20 years." What's a little odd is the insistence if you ask me. This seller has six figure pieces of jewelry for sale and some kind of reputation. As far as I can tell, the clasp says Rolex and RolexSA but that doesn't mean much. |

The tag is just nonsense, at best, the seller actually believes it to be genuine and has added the tag to make it a package without knowing what a chronometer is.

Interestingly, here's another one for sale.
https://www.1stdibs.com/jewelry/neck...e/id-j_217510/ Says it is circa 1980. |

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what an "approved P.B. dealer by Beverly Hills Police Department" is? Pawn Broker?
Seems like there should be a watch hidden in there someplace. |

Yes, diet coke in a glass. My faux pas. :)
The necklace is pretty hideous but I'm beginning to wonder if it's real. Could Rolex have done a short run at making scary necklaces in the early 80s? Given the times, I wonder. This message is approved by the Beverly Hills PD- no idea what that could mean except pawn broker. My guess is that your guess is correct. |
