Magnesium - are you deficient?
A survey is said to have revealed that 80% of Americans are deficient in Magnesium.
Most people don't even realise they have a magnesium deficiency and so can be in that state for years. Some of the indicators of magnesium deficiency are: 1. Any kind of headache. 2. Lethargy or tiredness. 3. Cramping or twitching muscles including any occasional muscle spasms. 4. Diabetes or an imbalanced blood sugar. 5. Low energy at a particular time of the day like after meals or early evening. 6. Easily fatigued including a lack of motivation generally and to exercise. 7. High blood pressure. 8. Insomnia, including not restful sleep. 9. Anxiety or depression or if your mood is antagonistic. 10. Muscle pain. 11. Constipation. There is a lot of material on this mineral, do the research and check it out.

I eat a lot of magnesium-rich foods, although not all of these, so I think I must be covered.

My lower back muscles occasionally go into the most horrific spasms following a car crash seven years ago. The pain can be excruciating and there have been a few where I can barely walk. Couple years ago, a good friend recommended a magnesium supplement and the spasms have thankfully reduced in both frequency and intensity. Placebo? Possibly but if it works, I couldn't care less and will keep on taking the supplement.

Don't forget Vitamin D also. One of the key nutrients. Annual blood test will tell the story for both.
