(I think I said that right lol)

So at the most we are talking about the AD making 3 percent on that watch, if the employee is allowed to purchase it at 35% off.
Just to clarify because this 62% is a number I often read here.

None of the numbers above are correct for European ADs. Their profit margins and pricings also depend on the exchange rate of CHF. Could be true for chain ADs who don't buy directly from Rolex though.

To put some numbers out there - One of my recent purchases retails at 6750EUR, and I paid just over 4000EUR for it (and yes, I have receipts for it too, full AD, my name in warranty, diet coke, green Rolex bag, the works...)
Same watch from a trusted seller here in TRF was just under 6000USD, so almost 1500EUR more expensive than AD.

Like I said - I can't afford trusted sellers, so I have to buy from ADs :)

I prefer trusted sellers but your crazy thinking it can sustain just through them. AD's across the world spend millions building retail environments and advertising to bolster the luxury image, while trusted sellers are guys who meet you in a parking lot with a watch.

Imagine Rolex becoming a parking lot Craigslist item for good. Value would only be in the PM at that point.

That's why I said "all joking aside"

To each their own regarding what they want to spend.

A dollar saved is a dollar earned. And more for the next purchase

Some of the trusted sellers here prob earn mid six figures and turn over seven figures annually. It's a big business.
10-20% margins on products with no essential overheads is a fantastic business.

But obviously nothing compared to ADs.

Not an annual perk when I worked there. The owner and I became good friends, and I believe I could have purchased more than one. About six years later, I purchased Rolexes for my mother and sister and still got the same deal; not even working there!
