Don't like all of it. Maybe part franken w/ refinished dial.
Edited after additional pics. |

Here is the case back and the movement.
These pictures are from a cell phone, so the focus and alignment is not perfect. I have further read that numbers restarted in 1980 and that bidirectional bezels existed. What would indicate this to be a renished dial? My eye is not catching it. thanks again . |

All the old subs had bidirectional. 5513, 5512, 1680, tudor subs etc. The case is in rough shape from the pics with some uneven polishing. I wasn't saying it wasn't gen just in rough shape in my opinion. The crown isn't sitting well at all. There is a gap sometimes but shouldn't be that much IMO. For the dial, it could just be the pics but the tail on the f seems to come down further than what I'm used to but I can't see the rest of the writing because of the hands. I'd see if you can t get better pics. Im sure others will weigh in.

94010 b/w lugs
9411 CASEback Proper ETA in it My questions. Is it real? Yep BI-DIRECTIONAL bezel? Yep Serial number 20xxx - yes only 5 digits? Yep Crown real? Yep A little roughage on the underside of the case but it is 30+ years old. Nice piece IMO. Not exceptional, but nice. I would like to see better photos of the hands and bezel / insert. Short of better photos I believe this is legit.

You should post a pic of the dial so we can see the depth rating printing. This is key. There are lots of bad shield sub dials around

she's good to go. Even has the original early version 703 crown thus the reason it looks to be sitting farther out then a later 703. The bezel ring might be a later replacement but that's it IMO.
Here's a shot of my 7016 from 69 that has sharp teeth on the bezel. While with the 9401 I post below they're pretty worn. Also that 9401 (I foolishly sold last year for a song) has the original 703 crown like your's. Threads are in a different spot.

I was thinking the bezel was OK but I could not make out the slight bevel (ahem chamfer) on the inside of the bezel ring where it meets the insert. Hence better photos. Also hard to tell but hands may have been relumed.
