It depends on what you try. I found nato straps to be cool and very comfortable.

In my experience, the only natos that fit well and are comfortable are the Phoenix ones (they claim to be, or have been, suppliers of the UK Ministry of Defense). Also Timefactors' ones are good. All the others I tried, I didn't like.

The only downside is that nowdays they are too fashionable...
