Being older does help but as mentioned by everyone else, wear the watch and don't let the watch wear you.

I wear my 18038 every where. Work included. People either don't know what it is, do and look or do and ask about it, never anyone at work, more or less the customers.

Try explaining how at 30 you own your home, a few cars, all free and clear, on top of having a solid gold watch. I worked hard for 10 years, invested in precious metals and the web at the right time and while not rich, made enough money to live comfortably and work part time.

I never see a reason to apologize.
