Italian loafers..which ones and why?

I've had several pairs of Guccis and Ferragamos and prefer Gucci's fit and quality.

I have two pairs of Farragamo Drivers, a pair of Gucci pebbled drivers, and a pair of Gucci loafers. My opinion might differ from a lot of others for one simple reason, i wear a prosthetic, so anything with a heel gets to be uncomfortable after relatively short wear time. So i tend to stick to drivers. For me, Farragamo hands down have the best drivers, thats not to say i dont like my Gucci's though. One thing i prefer about Gucci's over Farramagos is Gucci has more style, but for comfort-ability, Farragamo.

I went the King of Prussia mall this morning. I stopped in both the Ferragamo and Gucci boutiques. The Ferragamo Parigi’s are more solid and will take a better beating compared to the Gucci Diamante’s. The Diamante’s are more comfortable than the Parigi’s, hands down. And there was enough arch support for my flat and narrow feet. I prefer to purchase from Nordstrom because they have great customer service and a very flexible return policy. My Nordstrom does not carry Gucci, but they can order from another store.

Stumbled across these while in NYC - Belgian Shoes (also available in "driver" style). Very comfortable and rare in the wild.

I rotate with Gucci, Ferragamo and Tod's all of which are excellent if properly cared for!

There have been a few mentions of Tod's on here. I am considering a pair of Tod's Gommino penny drivers in beige suede.

These look really nice. I've always been a sucker for suede. I have a pair of Alden Indy Snuff Suede boots, but no suede shoes. It looks like the Gucci's pebble sole is more durable than Tod's pebble sole. Is it true that drivers are known to wear out quickly? I would just wear these causally like to the office on casual Friday's or night out on the town.

I am considering some shows for work.....I work for the VA here in Muskogee Okla. I usually, well always wear jeans and a t shirt to work since we have no public contact, but I want to look a little more classy. Most everyone in here wear jeans and t shirts except the supervisors, but I just want to project a clean, professional image.

I am wanting to spend about $500-$600 on a pair of nice shows to wear with some nice clothes....my shoes will need to be comfortable. I am looking at Ferragamo slip on tassel loafers. But honestly, I have no clue about nice dress shoes. I currently wear some cheap Sperry loafers and they are pretty comfortable and people always say they look nice, but I am just wanting something better.

What would be your choice for a pair of comfortable dress shoes in the $500-$600 range?
