I've said it before and I'll say it again:
Go purchase a 2016 model Rolex and a 2016 model Apple Watch... wear them both for 5-10 years and tell me which one will maintain the majority of it's value I PROMISE you it won't be the Apple watch, and I'm a very loyal Apple user! |

The apple watch isn't even water proof.
Holds a charge for what? 12-16 hours? ...Just a piece of technology, it's not really a watch just because it tells the time and sits on the wrist. |

My gmt 2 is now 12 years old and looks and works just as good as the day I bought it... Any apple product over a few years old they stop providing updates for. My iPad 1 is basically a heavy paper weight. My MacPro that I bought for close to 4K cannot be updated to the newest operating system due to its age/hardware. |

I own both an Apple Watch and a Rolex. Theres simply no way that the AW can compete with a Rolex or any other watchmaker.

All the article states is that there is currently more mention of the Apple Watch over Rolex in SOCIAL MEDIA
And I quote: "But according to a new study from the analytics firm NetBase, the Apple Watch topped Rolex in social mentions, coming in 13th and 14th place respectively. (Chanel, Gucci, and Hermès filled out the top three so everyone hasn't lost it.) When it comes to watches exclusively, the Apple Watch tops the list once again, beating out Tag Heuer, Richemont, and Patek Philippe (!), along with Rolex." So all this means is Twitter and Facebook have more post-by-post mentions of the words "Apple+Watch" over the word "Rolex." In short, have a Coke and a smile. It's like writing an article saying there is more mention of Trump on the internet than Dr. Martin Luther King Jr right now...Doesn't mean he's any better. |

Apples to oranges. One Rolex will buy you a life time worth of apple watches. 400$ vs 8000$. That's 20 apple watches. One every two years assuming they launch a new model that frequent. So 40 years of new apple watches for one Rolex. you are not even adding the extra maintenance you spend on a Rolex(600$ every maintenance visit). I have 4 rolexes and one Apple Watch. You have to give apple credit for comparing their toy watch to a legendary name brand like Rolex. Surly I respect your stand point and won't wear the Apple Watch to attend s wedding. It's going to be my rolexes :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have both. Each one serves its own purpose.

The cost of technology is a bit more insidious than a Rolex. Your Rolex was a big cash dump up front, whereas the electronics nickel and dime you over time. Over the service life of a quality mechanical watch you will spend much more money on technology. You just won't remember that it cost you much. |

Lol. Kinda makes sense. It's just a fancy toy. Not even sure it will be a new trend on the long run or a temp fashion. I can't promise you I'll buy the next version in the Apple Watch one day. But surly I'm working on my fifth ss Rolex Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

But an Apple Watch can help me find my phone when I have misplaced it. That alone is worth more than it costs to service my Explorer  |
