I wonder if the Platona doesn't feel as heavy as a PM sport model such as a Smurf because of its design. I've worn the white gold Daytona and have tried the Platona on a few times. It fits different than a sub, IMO, which may be what the OP is sensing.

Interesting perception...however I would hardly correlate the difference in the weight - a piece of deterministic criteria...perhaps the magnitude of the difference was surprisingly less than you had originally thought...
I don't think that weight is necessarily more of the allure of PM references than it (more or less) is just part of the package. The allure of PM references, in my opinion is just that --- the PM... just my .02 |

I visited an AD Saturday and tried on a white gold Daytona for the first time and was blown away by the weight and look of the watch. Absolutely brilliant .
Affordability is another story for me...but that takes NOTHING away from the piece. |
