Has anyone else experienced their Divers crown backing off and becoming unscrewed? Not sure if it's the rubber casing or what, but after several hours of wear I look down and the crown has backed off, leaving the crown tube exposed to the elements.

Never happened to mine so far. Maybe have a checkup at your local APSC?

Are you sure you’ve tightened it sufficiently?
Might be worth cleaning the tube thread with a soft toothbrush, just in case it’s a bit of detritus that’s causing it to not tighten fully.

No, this has not happened to my Diver. As a matter of fact, I've never heard of this type of failure mode. Has this happened more than once?

Nope - just make sure its actually screwed in, in full.

Update, tightened as much as I deared to today, and so far so good. Love this watch and would hate to break it, so I think I'm being overly careful. Funny no matter what band I buy other than Rolex, I have this mental issue that i'm going to break them. Absolutely loved my BP FF, but always thought it was to delicate for my ways, so sold her off, really miss that one.

It's possible that the case tube threads are worn.

A clue might be that it's getting harder to get the crown to engage the tube when screwing it tight.

A minor fix by a good watchmaker if that's the problem.

Only issue would be locating a replacement tube if the watch is vintage.

I fully understand....love me APs, but can't help but feel that they're oh so fragile compared to a a Rolex.
