After 13 year break I have returned to AP
Hi all,
So after my first AP Royal Oak which I purchased in 2003, and sold within 6 months because at the time I felt it was too easily scratched/damaged, recently I decided that as I was few years older I could buy into the AP brand and take better care of the watch. After owning a couple of Rolexes (ss Daytona and GMT), a couple of Panerais and a VC overseas chrono (the only watch I still own and the best of the bunch), I have decided to buy an AP Offshore Steel Rubber Clad as my daily wearer. I have been looking for the last few months and have been undecided between a 39mm ROC city of sails, a 41mm steel ROC, a Navy themes and a Rubberclad. In the end I went for the Rubberclad and I managed to get a great condition watch with just few bruises and marks on the bezel and perfect elsewhere, it was also my cheapest option so left me some space for servicing costs etc. Had -5 sec/day and 310 amplitude on the timing machine which was a good sign that it was well looked after, and after a few days on my wrist I am over the moon. My only concern is the rubber strap, I feel like I am in between sizes and think I might need some alternate options. Any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated. |

Congrats on your RC, it's a great piece!
You could purchase a short strap andtry that, or try 1/2 short and 1/2 regular. |

Fantastic--let's see some pics!
As for strap size, you can mix and match a short strap with a regular one and it tends to work well. Straps are easy to get 'just right'. Work with a boutique on that as they have access to tools, straps and someone onsite who can make it perfect. Enjoy it! |

Thanks for the advice, will look into getting another strap and mix and match. I do remember reading somewhere that if you change the strap around so the deployment is reversed it makes it more comfortable.
I will add some more pics when I get the chance. |

not sure about that, tried it for my ex PP 5726 and it wasn't good, had to order the short strap, but maybe it will be better on your AP

Some pics of the general condition which, apart from parts of the bezel, is really good.
Also had my Vacheron serviced and now that is put aside for occasional use. |

Thanks to you all.
Had the watch on for almost a week and the strap has probably softened a touch as it feels more comfortable. The only probably I have now is that after looking a few different options on watches, I want another AP!! |
