Two tone Daytona
Dose the two tone Daytona hold its value as well as the SS? I find it a great looking watch.

I don't know how well it holds its value, only that this one will likely be my next Rolex.

Buy it at the right price preowned and it will never be worth much less than you paid for it, if at all. Be sure to do your homework. SS will retain a much higher percentage of its MSRP.

Two tone Daytona
They don't hold value as the SS. But you have to buy what you like, not what holds better value.

The two tone bnib is very close ($1500 to $2000) in price difference to the 116520 however as many have said buy what you like just buy it well!!
Personally I love that Panda above and I know BNIB it's roughly 13 to 13.5k and I don't care resale wise but I would think if bought at said price it will hold its value relatively well. |

As an old friend of mine whose hobby is classic cars always says: you make your money when you buy, not when you sell. So, buy it right and you'll be fine.

No TT watch will hold value like a Stainless model, period...but that should have no bearing on deciding on which reference is right for you...
just my .02 the TT Daytona is an AWESOME reference! |

Beyond that initial AD discount or once-used depreciation - then yes, the TT Daytona does hold that value same as the SS Daytonas. If you were looking to buy a used TT Daytona, it would hold that used value quite well. Further - the TT Daytonas are offered with much more interesting dials than the plain black or white face SS Daytonas. I love the Panda arabic dial TT (which is why I own that one), but the slate dial, champagne dial, blue arabic dial, and others are also gorgeous and interesting. If a TT Daytona is what catches your eye, then by all means go for it. I knew about the greater initial depreciation when I bought my TT Daytona new from an AD, and didn't care - it's a keeper!!!!

Seems strange to me that a SS watch holds its value more than a TT ( gold) watch? I would think that the TT would hold its value much better, especially if you are planning on trading in or trading up at an AD jewelry store.
I love TT watches ! |

It's not a rule but what is fashionable right now dictates its resale value. Things will change so what is a "hot" resale value now might not be on 10 years.

Any watch bought at the right price will hold its value or perhaps even gain. Buy smart.

Almost 5 years ago I posted a thread. Should I by 116610LN or 16613 (TTsub). Everyone suggested here to buy SS SubC. Price for both were $7900 out of the door. After 5 years 16613 holds better value than a SubC. My AD is willing to give close to $7k for it as a trade in.
