You say that you don't want the RSC "service", but you want them to do the same thing. i.e., take your watch apart, and only fix the date mechanism. You can find an independent to do the job for a couple hundred less, but if you don't want them to warranty the work, change seals, and pressure check afterwards you might not be using the best qualified watchmaker.
