I'll qualify my knowledge by saying, "I'm not a Rolex professional. I am an owner of an early model Explorer II 1655, and I've crammed as much information about the model as I can.
With that said, it looks like an early version of the Explorer II. It has the straight second hand, which most would say is a great feature of the early model. Maybe a MK 2 dial and a MK 2 bezel. I'd check out the serial numbers (between the lugs, you have to take the bracelet off to see it). I'd assume a the serial number would be between 2,700,*** - 3,500,***( give or take 1 million). Check out the bracelet, is it a 7836? What are the end pieces? Looks nice |

Sorry, yes you are correct.. Serial 30XXXXX... MK1 dial and MK2 bezel based on my research... Bracelet is incorrect for period but is solid link 78360 with 580 end links... Can always source a period correct bracelet later but will wear on a solid link as my daily

He's just vetting. It's always a good idea to get a bunch of eyes on a high-dollar purchase like a 1655. Someone might notice something that the rest missed

Case looks too new. Could it have been refinished? Not a bad thing, just a personal observation

Did you buy it from a Trusted Seller? If it was bought from Shear, Ku, Gogas, Jacek, etc then you have nothing to worry about IMO (Sorry if I left any trusted vintage guys in the US out). Looks nice on You! Lugs look thick, patina even, bezel has all of the paint on it, 78360 with 580 ends is fine, case has been polished but no big deal as 99% of them have been. Congrats and wear in good health
