These are really more Owl dials than half-panda.

If a WG Panda Ceramic doesn't come out next year I might mod the panda dial into the SS but I would only have OEM parts in my Rolex. No aftermarket/fake stuff.

After seeing both the white and black dials, I prefer the black dial.
This would not be the case if Rolex had come out with a true Panda.
If they had I'd be on a list.

Just something to keep in mind - at some point in the watch's life, it will require service. If it is sent to a RSC for service, Rolex will confiscate the non-original dial and will charge you to replace it with the "correct" Rolex dial. Of course, if you never intend to sell the watch or have it serviced by Rolex, that wouldn't necessarily be a problem...

Good luck!
Steve

Thanks Steve! If I can find a way to get what I want (clumsy Photoshop above) that looks authentic I'm all-in. Sounds like there are some artisans who might be able to create that look for me, fingers crossed.

Would be able to do that very easily, ignore the White bezel and strap:

I was more referring to the way he refinished the dials to make them 6263 in style. This is a 116520 with a 4130 movement so this dial would fit your Daytona:

It will certainly resemble the 6263 more than the stock model does. I'm not trying to make a poor-man's 6263 but rather a more interesting 116500LV.
Missed a sticker?

Instead of getting the new Daytona from the grey market and overpaying for it and the incurring the cost of modifying it, you could consider this solution:
http://lesartisansdegeneve.com/en/23...-6263-serie-ii
I think it looks amazing!

You get the 6263 exact feel using the same movement used by the new Daytona generation!

It is....
The concept is very similar to that of bandits watch department etc...
They take an authentic Rolex Daytona and they modify it.
I just think that of someone is after a 6263 this is a great alternative.
The guys have it absolutely spot on. You get all the feeling from the 6263 in a slightly bigger more contemporary size and with the Rolex 4130 automatic movement!

I really, really like the look of that. I wonder what it costs?

I love this idea. I'm not much into the idea of modding a Rolex, but I guess if you got the money it shouldn't be viewed as that different from modding a Seiko. I personally wouldn't dare do it, but the full panda dial (the WG Arabic, and the 6263) have always been my favorite. When I saw the new release, I also thought to myself it was a shame they didn't go back to the full panda dial, but I thought it still looked good. That photoshop(?) of the ceramic with the full panda dial looks amazing.
