Rolex Day Date 18083 mahogany dial

Had this one a little while.

A few years back, I took this in to swap out the dial, was thinking to update it to a black dial with diamonds, but as soon as the dealer saw it he started talking about how it was one of those with the "fancy schmancy dials" so I left it alone didn't even mention the idea to him.

It's an 18083 from 1980-1. Mahogany dial. Very clean. I don't have to think too much or worry much about wearing it.

Pretty old school.

This is probably the "same" or similar reference President of the fake one I got in Hong Kong when I was a kid. So it's nice to be an adult today with the real version.

What were you thinking? Common sense has prevailed and do not have those thoughts again.

Beautiful watch. However it isn't Mahogany. That would be the rarer birch dial.

Ah thank you, I've been wondering. It doesn't look quite like mahogany and it doesn't look quite like petrified wood.

My understanding is that they can crack easily if messed with.
I think it is great as is!
