Can I wear Rolex in a hot tub

I am sure this subject is somewhere on here, but I couldn't find it easily if so. I own a few different models of Rolex, and I am wondering if I can wear my new Oyster Perpetual in the hot tub (incoming post coming when I get a hot sec to do it). Will it be fine to wear in the hot tub (aside from the fact that chlorine is corrosive)? I've seen others wear theirs in the hot tub all the time, but wanted some feedback. I only ask because of the heat difference and the steam that is in it.

All help would be appreciated!

you can, just rinse it off with water after. same thing goes for in the ocean, just need to clean it and rinse it after each time

Yup wear my 114060 and 116613lb in ours all the time. Just be sure to rinse with fresh water after.

Everything is corrosive one way or another! It's fine! I always see the old Rolex ad where they boil a Rolex. If they can boil a watch over 50 years ago and still keep going I'm pretty sure the new models can withstand some heat and steam in a hot tub no problem! Enjoy!! :)

It's true that you CAN wear a waterproof watch like a Rolex Oyster model, in hot tubs saunas etc... and that it won't "hurt" the watch (movement). I have a sauna in my house and used to all the time.

I was recently told however, by a watchmaker, that while the "extreme" heat environments don't "hurt" the watch they definitely will shorten the life span of the rings/gaskets that keep the water out so have stopped wearing my watches in the sauna and/or hot tub...

Please help! I don't know how to post but I have this Rolex DateJust oyster perpetual and don't know whether it is genuine. It has no serial at numer 6 or 12 (i removed the band to check) I can see the serial at theplace the watch comes together adnt it is 5019C or 50190 not sure. There's a X9 above too. I checked online and the watch passed all the tests

I think the consensus answer is 'yes'. That said, I know of 3 friends who experienced issues as a result of hot tub or steam room exposure. Maybe it was user error (i.e. Forgot to screw in the crown, etc.), or maybe they had just rolled the dice by extending the service interval for the watch longer than necessary? In either case, I just personally prefer not to take the risk.

So for me the pool and ocean are fine. I'll even bring it in the shower from time to time. But I wont subject it to prolonged submersion in a hot tub.

Rolexes melt immediately when placed near hot water, you can send them to me I'll provide a good home for them�� Seriously though I've never had an issue in hot tubs

Yes you can. I always rinse my watch after with tap water to watch salt or chlorine from it.

Thank you all for the good advice. Side note, the only time I am in a hot tub is when I'm on vacation for a week/10 days once out of the year. So, I am sure it'll be fine given that it won't be often and the evident reality that it can take some heat.

When I get The Flu I always remove my Rolex to protect the gaskets.
