My personal preference is to use winders for all watches with complications, and for those with screw down crowns. I rotate my watches weekly and can't see resetting them each time, both for convenience and to avoid any unneeded wear from manually resetting the functions or from tightening and unscrewing the threads every week.

Anything worn less frequently I would probably not own, but would likely not leave on a winder if I did.
A simple watch without a screw down crown I would not keep on a winder, regardless of how often or infrequently it was worn.
