Tudor / Rolex straps

I have a 1974 7016 Tudor sub and I bought it with a 9315 diver extended strap. This is far too big, think 2 or 3 lugs, so will need professional alteration if I am to wear it.
I have had it authenticated but it isn't the correct strap for my watch.
What should I do?
I think the right strap is a 7206.

Now, do I sell the 9315 and find a 7206? What prices are we talking, for mine and the 7206?
Do I sell the 9315 and buy a generic strap or a later Rolex strap?

Opinions please!

as far as i know the 9315 came with your watch. i have a 78 94110 with a 9315 as well. I think you would be better off keeping the one that came with it. if you don't like it, buy a nato strap. is there a date stamp on your bracelet?

As I saw it, yours should have the 9315. Mine, being an earlier model supposedly had the riveted 7206.
Bit if a mine field the searches I have done.

not sure....my 68 7016 came one a 1970 stamped 9315......i think a C&I bracelet would work as well. There is no definitive answer....bracelets could be swapped at the ad at time of purchase. Wild wild west back then.

Here is a write-up on the C&I and USA Jubilee bracelets that I did last year.

Keep the 9315 n buy a newer bracelet to wear. Those older ones will only go up in value anyway. Try not to go aftermarket unless it's last option. Good luck.

I blame it on the autoconnect.
