Hotel Safe Magnetism?

First off - I'm not a 'should I wear my watch doing this?' Or, 'should I wear my watch ever' king of guy. I wear my Datejust 99% of the time (in the gym, on the beach etc).

Howevvver...

I heard that the magnetism from a hotel safe can affect your watch. True or False?

I only ask because I'm planning to scuba in Thailand next month - Datejust will obviously be sitting out.

Any help/experiences will be appreciated
