No, you can't have too many subs. That said, I prefer the YG GMT to the 116618ln. I just prefer the busier bezel with the gold writing. To me, the GMT wears slightly smaller although witnesses have thought me nuts for saying so. A guy on here just bought an LN on vacation (has a thread) and I have to say, I like it more than I used to but the GMT still would get the nod. I can't speak to the fit though.
On another note, Kilyung takes the best pictures and if I spend too long looking at them, nothing good will come of it. Although I did note the conspicuous absence of a 116618ln in his quartet. As his exhortation suggested we get them all, he's missing one. Hmmm... |

Why not - different metal colors and lots of collectors with multiple subs.

I have owned both the YG GMT and several YG Subs and my preference is the sub. The glidelock is the best and in the end the sub always did more for me.

You can't have too many Subs (ask Mike Wood).
I do think the 116718 would be the way to go. I chose it over a 18k Sub and have no regrets. I also think it better compliments what you already have and wouldn't worry about the fit. Good luck! |

I wouldn't get two gold subs, it's just too redundant. Go for the gold GMT and have the best of both worlds!

I'd go gmt. Diversity and is more comfort with lower case back for me. Easy link works fine for sizing. Yg is more suited to gmt functionally as it is a rich man's travel companion so it makes more sense ;).

You guys are great with many differing opinions. I also really appreciate all the pics for comparison. Still waiting for the signal in my head to go off to make a decision. I am just super excited a full yellow gold will find its way to me soon.

Yellow gold is eye catching; white gold flies under the radar! Great combination. I say there is only one criteria to decide, your own heart!!!

You can never have too many subs. SS, YG, WG & TT. If I could afford them I would have one of each.

And I would add...IMHO the green details on the GMT are some of the best in Rolex's repertoire.

I have tried going the collection route so diversifying almost for the sake of it and that did not work and have had multiples of the same and that did not either. So I think the is nothing hard and fast apart from buy what you like.
Personally I would go WG sub + YG/black sub. Why? Because I like them both and would have both if I could afford it ! However much I look at the GMT I just do not like it as much as the YGblack sub. Let's face it there is not that much between them, but that's what I like. The only other thing that comes in it for me is a DD40 in RG, in particular the latest 60th anniversary one with the green dial, but that is just getting off topic ! |
