Panerai Deployant question
Hi,
I am considering buying a strap plus a deployment buckle, but don't want to commit to buying OEM until I know I will like it. Does anyone knows of quality deployment buckles? I have found many on eBay or aftermarket websites ranging from $39 and up. I would prefer something of quality but don't want to invest $410+ strap until I know I will love it... Cheers. |

Panatime sells one for about $35. They've worked for me. I have one OEM deployment to compare it to.
The aftermarket version is easier to install. |

I had an 88 with deployant. Very uncomfortable. Pinched. Never sat right. The super mini screw was a royal pain in the arse. Buckle straps much preferred in my experience any way.

I purchased a deployment buckle here and am quite satisfied with it for the price.

I just bought the OEM deployment buckle a few months ago with no regret. I heard the same thing about being uncomfortable but I have not found this is the case. I guess I got lucky my wrist was made for it. I would go to an AD and try it on. Wear it for a few minutes and see what you think after going through a range of motions. I bought the oem deployant for my 297 about 4 years ago and for me I love it. It does leave an indent on my wrist but I don't notice it and it's comfortable to me.
Would I buy it again? Yes. When I have pin buckle straps on my watch I stress out for the first few times putting the watch on my wrist as it is not as "secure" on the wrist when open as the deployant is, but then get used to it again. |

Thanks for all the feedback.
Before buying a Panerai I wore a Rolex for 20 years+ so I am used to a deployant. After one year of wearing the Panerai, the leather bracelet is already worn-out from the buckle going in and out. It seem that the deployant might keep the bracelet from wearing out so fast... Cheers. |

At $39 or so the aftermarket deployant clasps at Panatime.com are a bargain compared to the crisper OEM versions with the Panerai name and the microscopic screw . |

Hey Fabrice, for which panerai are you planning on buying a strap and deployant for? I may have one (oem) for sale.

I second panatime... I also bought their version and it is what made me finally realize that the deployment is not for me and my appreciation for the Pre-V buckle was born!
