1675 Case Polish Help

Hello,
I love my vintage GMT 1675, however I'm thinking of selling it because of purchasing another watch this year. The watch is in great shape, however at some point in its past it has been poorly polished. I'm thinking about trying to fix this regardless if I sell or not. Any insight on Rolex case polishing?

Should I send it to Rolex service center to get factory Finnish?
Is the damage to severe and I should just leave alone?
Would it need a restoration specialist?
Is the case all that bad?

Any input would be useful.

Rolex will improve the flatness of the sides but it won't be perfect, too much material would need to be removed. The case back will barely change. If you want it to be restored to nice, crisp flat surfaces you'll need to go to a restoration specialist to have additional material lasered on. I'd recommend ABC Watchworks.

Nothing left, if you look at the profile it has lost quite alot of material. I would say that it needs a new case if you want to bring it back.

This reference isn't that thick to begin with compared to modern Rolex. I don't think it's THAT bad. I'd have Rolex polish and service- but that will take some $.

Laser welding is your only hope. ABC can work wonders on it.

The original chamfer has been rounded so it looks like there is less material than there really is a good watchmaker with a lapping machine could sort it out but sending it to Rolex would be the best bet they do these jobs best.

That said I would never spend any money on a watch before you sell it. The amount it will add in value will not cover what it cost for the work to be done. If you plan to keep it and you do get it done by Rolex you will be very pleased with seeing the case restored to its former glory with the chamfered edges they look great.

When it comes to Vintage Rolex, Rolex is not the best polisher here in the US.

My recommendation would be LA Watchworks.
