I bought my first vintage during the peak of the bubble in the 2000s. A year later, similar models were going for a couple thousand less (though the dials on those were not quite as pleasing). Of course it wasn't fun to see, but I figured it would regain its "lost on paper" value.
And sure enough, it came roaring back and then some. So unless you've bought a reference that has fallen out of favor (I do feel for those who bought bubblebacks during the peak of that frenzy), you'll likely see the values of what you bought return to a level that makes you feel better.
