When Did Rolex Start Making White Gold Sport Models?
Howdy,
As the thread states, when did Rolex start making white gold sport models? Was it prior to the introduction of the Smurf and the BLRO? Pardon my ignorance if the answer to this is common knowledge. Take care, Ruddiger |

I believe the YG Sub was introduced in 1969. The YG 1675/8 GMT came later. I don't believe there were preceding WG models before today's models.

For those who can afford it and like to watch sports in style. You definitely don't wanna play (or sweat) in any kind of gold. Just way too heavy on the wrist

I think the previous zenith daytona, posted above by Steve, with the leather band, 16519 is the earliest around 1997. Don't think they made it with a bracelet until the in-house 116509. Subs and GMT were more recent, no YM in white gold until the recent YMII.
