Hi folks,I have a 16013 date just with acrylic crystal. yesterday I wiped the acrylic for a while with a damp cloth as it was a little dirty.it seems there's a few scratches now.I suffer with ocd,and I'm wondering if they were there before.drives me nuts things like this,I had the jewellers loop out lol.my feeling is a damp clothe couldnt harm it ??????? Help,I know acrylic can be polished but there hard to see.sorry for being a dick asking :-)

Use a baking soda tooth paste as a mild abrasive to polish out the micro scratches.

If it was an old cloth it may have picked up some foreign material that scratched the acrylic?
I use tooth paste and the polishing cloths for eyeglasses, many use Polywatch but go gently.

Good thing with acrylic, it easier to polish than sapphire crystal.

I have a jeweler friend who has buffing gear :-) just remebered

No need for a jeweler, it really is a quick and easy 2 minute fix. Toothpaste or polywatch will fix it up.

I am wearing a 1655 for the next few weeks which has a plexi crystal.

This morning I spent two minutes polishing it with white Colgate toothpaste and it is really really shiney and I can see my face in it.

How do I get it dull again ?

Polywatch, simichrome metal polish, cape cod polishing cloths, have all been proven to remove scratches from acrylic crystals very easily. I myself prefer simichrome and a nice soft cloth, it's what I use to polish the scratches out of my acrylic 16753 GMT all the time, leaves a very nice finish.

Jus teasing Vincent,your right though,my watch is as it is.the date is set to wrong 12 hr at mo,ahhh f..k it...:-) :-) .I have a saying.the more I look for defects,the more I will find ......
