New 216570 - how to get started?
I have an incoming (actually its already at home but I'm traveling for work) explorer ii. It's BNIB.
Do I have to wind the crown or do I just start wearing it and let the wrist action take control? If I do have to wind it, do I wind or 20 or 40 times. This is my first NEW one |

Wind it in the first position when the crown unscrews.. If you dont wear it enough you will have to wind it again.

I would give it a full manual wind of about 40 turns or so. You'll be able to feel it when it's done. Tops off the power reserve. |

No definitive answer on 20 or 40. Anything from rolex themselves on Winding the watch? |

I gave my blnr 40 turns or so when I bought 4/21/16 and I haven't wound it again. I did unscrew the crown to jump the hour hand without a second hand hack for the time change. After 8 months it is still going strong and a 1 second off atomic. I guess I stayed active enough even with some off time for various pieces.

It's oft 40 but it should start moving around the 7-10 turn.
