Which would be the smarter buy?
I'm considering a choice between a rose gold Datejust 6309 (TOG) and a rose gold Day Date 6611b.
I'm interested in opinions on which might be the smarter choice? Both are from the 1950's and can be had for similar money... Acquisition price is by no means low (we're into contemporary Daytona territory). It would be the most expensive and only PM piece in my modest collection. Which has the better 'cost of ownership'? (spares, etc) Which would be easier to resell in the event of a 'qualifying event'? Are these vintage models difficult to own in any way? (fragile movements, scratch prone cases etc) Is it hard to find honest, correct examples of these? (fakes, frankens?) I know these are very general, open ended questions. I'm hoping to get some opinions and guidance from owners who might have faced these questions themselves. Thanks |
