Sub C sizing?

I'm thinking of having my wife pickup a Sub C for me when she comes back to the U.S. from Japan late this month. The USD to Yen is good and i expect it to be even better in the following weeks. Anyways, I want her to pick it up there and I wanted to have it sized when she got it. I'm curious to know how many links should I take off for my wrist? And which side should they be taken off from? I'll tell my wife the information and then they will size it there so when she comes back it'll be ready to wear! A 6 1/2 inch is snug but not overly squeezing and 7 is a little loose. Here are pics to help explain what I mean. Thanks in advance!!

I'd say size to 6 3/4" wrist

There's room in the glidelock clasp to adjust for anything more and it should come with a half link. I usually wear more links on the 12 o'clock side so that the claps is centered on the wrist.

I have a 7 inch wrist and wear 6 links at 12 o'clock and 4.5 links at 6 o'clock.

You can alway fidle with it when you get it home.

I'm betting you'll have to fiddle with it regardless.

That said I don't have a glidelock. I've just has to futz with every other bracelet type that a remote sizing without me would not likely work.

My two cents: Do not have it sized overseas. Wait until you get the watch and take it to a local AD to let them do it.

I agree with Larry (aka watchwatcher). Just wait until you have the watch here and then have it re-sized at a local AD.

It's removing a link, not really hard. Get a good screwdriver and do it yourself or take it to a local AD. It's not like the ADs get some special training in link removal....they just have a quality, appropriately sized screwdriver and do it.

Thanks! I'll try maybe 5 links at 12 o'clock and 4.5 links at the 6 o'clock then!?

I figured I would but at least it will be wearable once I get it!

Thanks, I would do that but I won't be able to wear it for a little bit because my nearest AD is about 2 hours away and I will be leaving for a trip with my wife once she gets back from Japan. What I was thinking was to get it sized so I can at least wear it then get it sized at an AD on my trip?

5 1/2 at the noon and 4 at the six and my wrist is right at 7"

Surely you know how to turn a screwdriver? Sizing a Sub seriously could not be any easier.

lol. Of course, I do! lol. I thought you need Loctite and everything? Is it really that simple?

^It really is. I've never used Loctite and have read many many posts that claim it's unnecessary.

Size it yourself. very easy.

I have a 6.5 inch wrist just as you; my Sub C has 4 links at the six o'clock position and 5.5 at the twelve o'clock position with the glidelock set pretty much at the mid-point and a somewhat loose fit.

It's no big deal to size it yourself but I do recommend you use loctite to keep the screws from backing out. The screws have no washers and no matter how tight you try to screw them down, without loctite there is no force present to keep them from backing out as the watch is worn. Many will say they do not use loctite and have never had a screw back out which is no doubt true but ignores the fact that others have not been so lucky and have had their screws back out. So do you really want to rely on luck or spend a couple bucks on a bottle of loctite? One other thought, if the use of loctite has no benefit then why does Rolex use a thread locker on the same screws?
