Question about glass of my 16570 explorerII

I bought a pre-owned D serial (2005) rolex 16570 explorerII that is everything original but aftermarket sapphire crystal.
My only question is, is it possible to change the aftermarket sapphire crystal to the original Rolex sapphire crystal at RCS ?
If it is possible, I am planning to change the crystal to the original one when the watch is ready for its overhaul.
If it is not possible because of the aftermarket sapphire crystal, I am planning to return this.
Any advise will be very thankful.

Here is a pictures of my polar.

First how do you know its a aftermarket crystal and a sapphire crystal is a sapphire crystal no matter who or what brand it is.If its aftermarket myself would wait till normal routine service, Rolex will change in then when they strip down the watch for service, if they notice its aftermarket. Then you will not have to pay any labour charge only pay for crystal if needed which is not that expensive.Perhaps if you are going to use watch in water have a pressure check done, most high street watchmakers could perform said test. Its a dry test if passes all is well then wait to normal routine service if you must have crystal changed.

Nice choice. Congrats
Any competent watch smith should be able to change the crystal.
RSC should change it as well as they will not service and return a watch with non Rolex parts.

Great looking watch.

I agree with Peter and don't really see your issue with the crystal that you have.

You will never have the "original" crystal, and so I suppose that this is simply a language perspective. A new Rolex crystal (there is still no proof that the one you have isn't, unless you know it was changed) will be "authentic", it will not be "original".

Personally, I wouldn't go through the expense of changing it until it is necessary.

Thanks a lot for all of your comments!
I bought it from my friend and he told me that the glass is changed once from a watch smith.
I'll wait until the time for the normal service and get the glass change as i get overhaul at RSC!

A couple months ago I also bought a pre-owned D serial 16570 polar, then sent it off to the Dallas RSC (was running 20spd fast plus I just wanted the warranty and paperwork). I looked like crazy trying to find an etched crown on the crystal, still haven't found one. Pretty sure there isn't one. I'm not convinced there ever was one when it was originally born, because from my research there wasn't a clear time when the crowns came along, i.e. there could be a period where old ones were used up in parallel with rolling out crown ones. In any event, the RSC made no mention at all about it and it came back looking brand new and running 2.5spd fast so far. In other words I wouldn't worry about it personally. Great watch!

At service time, RSC will replace the crystal IF it needs replacing, or regardless you can insist on its replacement. It's about £85 here in the U.K.
You're new crystal will have the laser etched coronet and the AR coated cyclops.
I know this because my 2004 GMT had it done and that's how it came back.

Nice Watch and good to hear assurances from those in-the-know that the crystal shouldn't be an issue.
