It's not a bad idea. Traditions are fun and may need to change from time to time to stay relevant. My wife wasn't keen on taking my name which is less and less common. The whole institution is at a bit of a transition which is quite interesting. I wonder if this is a fad or a lasting thing.

Nice article. Thinking how can I get the wife to read it without making it too obvious.

Interesting.

A good read.

Rolex. The marketing King. Maybe that why they have the crown.

Really bad picture (drawing) with the guy looking like a woman receiving her engagement ring. Excuse my cynicism but I don't know a single guy who would respond with that body language.

It's not supposed to be realistic. It's the stereotypical engagement reaction from women except they switched the gender roles.

Maybe it would work better with a caption: "Dave didn't know how to tell Sue he'd just been laid off at work that morning."

Roger Federer a spokesman for Rolex? I thought he was an ambassador but never knew he was a spokesman.

The 'lowest tier' Rolex doesn't cost close to five figures either, unless we're talking Indonesian Rupiah or something.

Sorry, not very well researched or written. Just sayin'

I thought those exact same points. Rolex website in U.K. shows prices. At least she was right about the submariner being a safe bet for most men.

Surprisingly refreshing to be able to get through a GQ article without a single attack on my values or politics.

I guess she did not get it engraved, that would have probably made whatever model she chose 'perfect'.
